Have you ever exercised without shoes on? I haven’t either. But Vincent Vu does it every single day. In fact, he does it so much that he started KINIS, a fitness company that’s reshaping how we work out...
The roots of KINIS can be traced back to Vu’s rough childhood. After fleeing Vietnam when he was seven, he found himself at an Indonesian refugee camp. For the next six years, he spent his time running around and playing soccer completely barefoot. The situation was far from ideal, but It made his feet incredibly strong which has helped him stay fit to this day. Now, he’s on a mission to encourage others to get back to the basics.
Here’s the problem. Normal shoes are too restrictive. Their clunky design doesn’t let the foot move naturally which leads to weaker muscles and a higher risk of injury. The visionaries at KINIS believe “stronger bodies start with stronger feet” so they’ve created a new ‘shoe’ that lets the foot to move as it should.
To give you a visual, picture this: an extremely durable sock with an extra layer on the sole for protection. Their simple design is ideal because it engages your foot muscles with every step. They’re so thin that you don’t even have to take them off going through airport security. And I promise, they don’t look like those shoes with toe dividers.
I think it’s about time you did something nice for your feet. Go check out the future of shoes. Treat yo’ self.
